The Perfect Hoste is dark comedy triller written and directied by Nick Tomnay.A fugitive on the lam (Crawford) decides to crash a dinner party. But he seriously regrets it when the mysterious and unusual host (Pierce) soon has him convinced that he would have been better off hiding somewhere else.The film premiered in January 2010 at the Sundance Film Festival, and reviews have been mostly positive. A reviewer for Sundance wrote of the film: "The Perfect Host is a slippery psychological thriller that exposes true human nature and reveals just how far we’re willing to go to satisfy our needs".
The Perfect Host played at several other film festivals, including Fantasia 2010 and Sitges 2010. It won the audience award at Amsterdam's Imagine Film Festival 2011. The film was released theatrically in the United States on July 1, 2011 in a limited release.
